May New & Updates

The smell of moist earth and lilacs hung in the air like wisps of the past and hints of the future.

Dear Reader,

This month we will be exploring our routines, delving further into our values and introducing some new mind body connection tools.

May always feels like the most hopeful month of the year to me as we are well and truly in spring here in the northern hemisphere. My Lenten fast from Instagram has continued on as I found that I am far less irritable without it and my in real life friendships have deepened as I’ve used the time to reach out to loved ones instead of expending that energy on my phone. Aside from nourishing my friendships I have also been out foraging, we have the luck to have wild asparagus, broccoli and leeks in our corner of France in April. Foraging became a hobby of mine in the early days of our move here and helped me to move into more seasonal living as I observed what nature is up to and how she can help out our wellbeing with what’s on offer. I’ve been enjoying spring flower cold water infusions, particularly the delicate flavour of lilacs (pictured) which is said to sooth and calm. You simply pick a few from clean and areas, give them a rinse and then soak in spring water over night.

Wellbeing Atelier wise I am so excited to have found a venue for groups and individual sessions in Pézenas on Tuesdays, I will be able to run group and individual sessions here comfortably and with easy access to the shops and cafés for those of you looking for even more of an excuse to come to this beautiful town. I hope you’ll be able to join me.

  1. Rest and Restore Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Beginning again the 9th May with a new venue in Pézenas, Fridays online and for the French speakers among you Monday lunchtimes in Gabian. Recordings available for those unable to attend with email support included.

  2. The Wellbeing Invitation , occupation as medicine. A free and simple occupational therapy prescription of activities to support wellbeing. This month we are looking at a morning routine to set your day off well, particularly if you feel fatigue when you wake. Begin your day with a question, followed by 2 minutes of breath work and once a week carefully pick, or buy, yourself a bunch of flowers. For the details and the science behind why these activities are brilliant for your wellbeing click HERE.

  3. Individual Wellbeing Session Individual occupational therapy sessions to support you to develop your physical and mental wellbeing, build resilience skills and increase your emotional flexibility through activity based interventions. For those of you based in France with a mutuelle you may be entitled to around three reimbursed Occupational Therapy sessions.

Please reply to this message to make any bookings or if you have any questions.

Warmly,

Josephine

If you would like to support my work you can treat me to a cup of tea here.
