Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists are healthcare professionals who use a client centred, collaborative approach, exploring together the how, why, when, where and what you participate in within your lives, what gives you meaning, value and purpose and what is getting in the way of you living more fully. Sessions involve activity focused assessments, treatment and workshops for individuals and groups.
Combining science, compassion and accountability to support you on your wellbeing journey. You will be supported to make sustainable changes with the development of a meaningful wellbeing toolkit either within groups or individual sessions.
My particular specialism is all things wellbeing, however I have particular expertise in supporting people experiencing or suffering from:
Addictive Behaviours
Anxiety
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Bipolar disorder
Cancer
Chronic Pain
Fatigue
Personality Disorders
Parkinson’s
Schizophrenia
Self-harm
Why work with an Occupational Therapist?
You’re looking for practical, brief, solution focused support with a particular challenge you’re facing, you are time limited and want to use an activity based approach to support yourself.
You may decide to draw on the skills of an occupational therapist as an introduction to exploring some of the areas of need within your life, you’re not wanting to engage in talking therapies and feel that by making a few adjustments to your daily life you will be able to better manage some of the challenges you are experiencing.
You have already engaged in talking therapies and are looking to integrate the learning you have done into you every day life. As an Occupational Therapist I support you to transition these skills into the context of your environments, consolidating the work you have already done with practical, activity based interventions.
To see some examples of my style of working you can explore The Wellbeing Invitation, a free monthly Occupational Therapy inspired prescription which includes a recorded atelier to explore our findings of the activities HERE.
