Wellbeing Atelier Groups

The Weekly Meditation Atelier

We begin the practice stepping out of the habitual doing mode by paying attention, intentionally, mindfully, compassionately, to sensations of the body and to aspects of everyday experiences. Moving towards knowing ourselves and accepting what we find with compassion, opening up to the potential healing that this can bring us.

Each week we will build on the practices and committing to a weekly session allows you to maximise the benefits of the techniques, and allows for consistency of social contact and support in our different corners of the world.

The atelier follows the following format:

  • Meditation

  • Poem (included in the handout)

  • Tea meditation

  • Reflective pause

  • A closing Meditation and invitation for home practice

What do I need to prepare?

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing

  • A yoga mat

  • A blanket in cooler weather

  • A chair for the sitting practice but please have any props to hand for your own comfort such as a meditation stool, cushions etc

  • You are welcome to prepare a non alcoholic drink to have for the tea meditation, this part of the atelier acts as a transition from the quiet of the formal meditation and models how activities of daily living can be a meditation.
